Born in Shirebrook, Derbyshire on 26th July 1967, Jason Statham is one of the most iconic action movie heroes in the modern era of film. Over the past couple of decades, Jason has found fame starring in some of the biggest action films to grace our screens in recent times. Believe it or not, he actually represented England in the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland as part of the diving team! Quite the career change, Jason went on to become a model before starring in his breakthrough films Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. In more recent years, he has become widely known for his roles in The Transporter films, The Expendables movies, in addition to the last three films in The Fast and Furious series.

Daniel Craig

Born in Chester on the 2nd March 1968, Daniel Craig is another action hero who has appeared in some of the biggest box office hits to hit the big screen since he began his stint as James Bond in 2006’s Casino Royale. Since then, he’s appeared in the role in three more Bond films, with 2012’s Skyfall becoming his highest grossing film to date – topping over $1 billion at the Box Office! Daniel has also appeared in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Golden Compass, and Defiance to name just a few!

Andrew Lincoln

Some may think this guy is American due to his role as Rick Grimes in AMC’s hit American TV series The Walking Dead. However, Andrew Lincoln was actually born in London on 14th September 1973! As well as his role as the gunslinging Sheriff in The Walking Dead, Andrew is known for his role in Love Actually – remember the guy with the cue cards at the door? Yep, that’s him! But, it’s probably a bit too early in the year to be watching Christmas films! So, if you fancy giving yourself a dose of epic zombie action, then why not treat yourself to a binge of The Walking Dead!

Tom Hardy

A highly versatile actor, Tom Hardy has come a long way ever since his breakthrough role in 2008’s Bronson. Born in September 1977, he later went on to star in several high grossing films which includes the likes of The Dark Knight Rises in which Hardy played the role of the terrifying villain Bane. He’s well known for playing the lead role in several other films too, including Legend, which depicts notorious British gangsters The Kray Twins. He’s so versatile, he even played both of them! This year, Tom is to appear as Eddie Brock/Venom in the upcoming Marvel superhero film Venom. Outside of film, Tom has also appeared in hit TV shows Band of Brothers, Peaky Blinders, and Taboo.

Kit Harington

Famous for playing the role of Jon Snow in the critically acclaimed HBO series Game of Thrones, Kit Harington is undoubtedly one of the most recognisable English actors to grace our screens this century.
