Is Tourney Paintball For Me?

Tourney games are basically tournament-style scenarios which take place in a field where giant inflatables provide the cover.

This arena is known as a Sup’ Air field and it allows a more standardised game to take place between paintball teams.

The most popular Sup’ Air game is speedball which is a fast-paced race for a flag in the centre of the field. Teams employ sophisticated tactics to make sure they are the first to the flag which they then try to deposit at the opposing team’s start point.

A good analogy is that this game is similar to 5-a-side football – you’re never out of the game and the action never stops.

Teamwork is crucial in Tourney paintball because attacking and defending as a unit is the only way to succeed. Players also get organised in terms of kit with matching jerseys in team colours and every king of accessory under the sun employed in a bid to get the upper hand.

Tourney ball is the antithesis of traditional woodland paintball and although paintballers can play both games, it’s becoming more and more common for players to choose one of the other.
Players taking the plunge into Tourney paintball need to be fully committed and be available for the vast majority – if not all – of the season.

Tourney teams usually consists of between three and 10 players.
